Christina Degazio began playing piano at the age of 4. During her formative years she studied under renowned classical pianists Reginald and Evelyn Bedford as well as Brazilian concert pianist Gilberto Tinetti. After completing the Royal Conservatory of Toronto curriculum through to her ARCT, she also studied classical and contemporary voice as well as taking part in the jazz program at Humber College.
From the age of 15 Christina performed in a number of professional venues. She has entertained using a variety of musical styles at such long-standing establishments as the Westin Harbourfront, Hamilton Place Theatre, Muskoka Riverside and Hidden Valley Resort to name a few. She was featured nightly at the prestigious Deerhurst Resort for 13 years as one of their longest-running entertainers; performing in a variety of shows and capacities. Christina also toured for 5 years as part of the southern gospel group "Higher Ground" making numerous appearances throughout Southern Ontario and the northern states.
As a songwriter Christina has many years of songwriting experience coupled with extensive involvement in the recording studio. For almost 6 years she was a staff writer for Centergy Music located in Nashville, Tennessee where she wrote and co-wrote under the direction and mentorship of the highly respected Niles Borop. A number of her songs climbed the Southern Gospel Charts and she was also nominated for a Dove award in 2001.
Choral instruction has also been of special interest to Christina over the years and she has directed a number of large group performances and vocal ensembles in and around the Huntsville area.
As a teacher, Christina has been encouraging and instructing both young and mature students for over 30 years. She has helped participants prepare for and complete Royal Conservatory exams, compete in Music Festivals and pursue whatever musical goals they are captivated by. Her utmost desire is to teach students, whether young or old, to strive for excellence and to help nurture a life-long passion for music.
Mike Degazio brings a vast wealth of musical experience to Studio One. His musical proficiency includes many instruments including accoustic guitar, bass, mandolin, saxophone and piano. His childhood was spent in a very musical household where he had many opportunities to craft his skills on a variety of different instruments and develop his vocal and songwriting skills.
After completing highschool Michael attended the highly respected Berkelee College of music where he studied bass guitar. He also toured Western Canada for many years as a part of the Degazio Brothers Band and gained immeasurable perfomance and recording experience during that phase of his musical career.
In the 1980's Mike returned to his native Ontario and became one of the star attractions at Deerhurst Resort where he performed with fellow recording star Rhonda Silver. Their duo became known as "Silver and Degazio" and went on to achieve great success with their music on the country music charts. His tenure with "Silver and Degazio" garnered both a Canadian Country Music award nomination as well as a Juno nomination.
Michael has a great realm of recording experience having worked on 4 album projects over the years as well as many other independent recordings. He has also taught music at the elementary school level and has a great rapport with children of all ages.
Mike continues to perform locally - most recently at the Steamers Restaurant and Compass Lounge located at Deerhurst Resort.
His performing and recording experience, along with his depth of virtuosity with so many instruments make him a great wealth of knowledge for many students in today's music world.
